I see two things here above the great technicality of the portrait. 

Premièrement, he really seems to expressed judgement and, stay with me, it's not necessarily pejorative.
It's more like he's saying to all of us, the lurkers from Lurker Town, how much he's proud of his work and by that fact he give himself the quasi natural right to judge us, like the director of a theater group judging the public, is public, from the backstage. 

Deuxièmement, he's asking, maybe impressively, maybe with proudness, how much you like what was on display. Clearly, this gentleman take is art very seriously! And it's fantastic, because we all too take is work with the attention that it deserved, right!?

This guy should be a actor in a farwest movie or some fantasy adventure. I easily imagine him going slaying some bastard with, I don't know, Tom Hiddleston. BOOM! Namedropping!
